Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom - The Beak and Barrel

The Beak and Barrel is the first ever dedicated bar and lounge in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! It is an immersive, Pirates of the Caribbean themed bar and lounge. The story line is about Captain Merry Goldwyn and her leaving on her rum searching adventure, leaving Rummy the parrot in charge of the bar. The map maker room with the large table is said to be from a map maker who locked himself in the room. To open the room, a cannonball had to be shot through the wall. This bar is divided up into The Mess, The Captain’s Quarter’s, and The Brig. Each space offering unique dining experiences.

While interning at Walt Disney Imagineering, I was lucky enough to work on this project. I assisted in picking out and testing the furniture, designing custom tables (like the chess table and Map Maker room table), and selecting fabrics from off the shelf as well as designing custom fabrics.
